Best Magic Weapons and Staves in Old School RuneScape
In the game of OSRS, magic is a powerful force to be reckoned with. As you level up your Magic skill, you'll unlock new skills that can help turn battles in your favor! From teleport spells and surge strikes to freezing opponents or even turning items into coins - there's something for every Runescape players.
There’s a seemingly endless amount of magic weapons to choose from in OSRS, but there are some that stand out.
Ahrim's Staff
You can get the Ahrim's Staff from the Barrows minigame as a rare drop.
Our first staff on this list is Ahrim’s Staff. Requiring a minimum level of 70 magic and attack to wield, this staff has a magic attack and defence bonus of +15, with a +5% magic strength bonus. Not too shabby! If you use this staff with all five pieces from the set (Ahrim's), then you can unlock its effect: lowering your opponent's strength every few hits for easy damage-dealing.
Master Wand
The Master Wand can be acquired in the Mage Training Arena. It has a magic attack and defence of +20, and requires level 60 magic to wield. However this wand isn’t just powerful for its stats, but also because it auto casts Ancient Magic spells automatically! As such, many players have seen these wands as some of their favourite OSRS items simply due to the reasons above.
Dawnbringer
The Dawnbringer staff is considered one of the most powerful weapons in RuneScape, with a special attack that can do up to 75-150 points of damage per hit. But it's not ranked as high because you only get to use it against Phase 1 Verzik in the Theatre of Blood.
Toxic Staff of the Dead
Now, this is an upgraded Staff of the Dead with a magic fang.
You’ll need at least 75 attack and Magic to use it though. The staff has identical stats as a normal one but also comes with a 25% chance to envenom enemies! And if you wear a serpentine helmet then 100%. This can be handy in high-risk PvP situations where outputting more damage could mean winning or losing quickly.
Kodai Wand
The Kodai Wand is the best magic weapon in OSRS. It has a +28 attack, 20 defense, and a 15% magic strength bonus - but you need 75 Magic to wield it! The wand also auto casts both modern and ancient spell books while supplying an unlimited supply of water runes meaning spells are easy to cast as well as saving inventory space. But at 86 million OSRS GP this is not going to be affordable for everyone.
